Firstly, please confirm that your settings are correctly set.
Ensure location is set to "Allowed Always"
- iPhone: Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Gridwise → Always
- Android: Settings → Apps → Gridwise → Permissions → Location → Allow all the time
Make sure precise location is turned on
- iPhone: Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Gridwise → Precise Location
- Android: Settings → Apps → Gridwise → Permissions → Location → Use precise location
Check if motion and fitness activity is on
- iPhone: Settings → Privacy & Security → Motion & Fitness → Gridwise
- Android: Settings → Apps → Gridwise → Permissions → Physical activity → Allow
Confirm cellular data is on
- iPhone: Settings → Cellular → Cellular Data
- Android: Settings → Network & internet → SIMs → Mobile data
Make sure Wi-Fi is on
- iPhone: Settings → Wi-Fi → Wi-Fi
- Android: Settings → Network & internet → Internet → Wi-Fi
Ensure background app refresh is on
- iPhone: Settings → General → Background App Refresh → Gridwise
- Android: Settings → Apps → Gridwise → Mobile data & Wi-Fi → Background data
Confirm app battery usage is unrestricted
- Android Only: Settings → Apps → Gridwise → App battery usage → Unrestricted
Additional tips when using our mileage tracker:
- Keep your device plugged in while tracking mileage to maintain accuracy.
- Turn off low-power or battery-saving mode.
- Periodically check the Gridwise app when safe to do so to ensure the mileage tracking is working.
- Start the shift tracker at the start of your shift. (To get a reminder to turn on your tracker see this article)
- Avoid using the mileage tracking feature when connected to Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.
- Do not use Gridwise on multiple devices or on an iPad.
- Don't forget to toggle off your shift tracker at the end of each shift.
